Gurdon to Little Rock

At Gurdon (MP 426.5), where there is a grade crossing in town, a bridge over a road, and a grade crossing, the line from Camden on the erstwhile Cotton Belt trails in from the south, there is a yard from MP 425.9 to MP 426.9, where the speed limit is 40 mph, and the Caddo Antoine and Little Missouri Railroad heads away  north and then west to Antoine and (almost) Caddo. The line continues northeast past a grade crossings in town, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals, and Curtis Junction (MP 422.4), where the 2MT reduce to single track, CTC, with speed limit 75-60, and turns north pasta bridge over a street (just north of the 2MT), a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals, Curtis, two dirt track grade crossings, a grade crossing, a detector at MP 415.6, two grade crossings, and additional track at Gum Springs (MP 415.5).

The line turns northeast again (with speed limit reduced to 70-60 between MP 414.8 and 414.1), past a road alongside to the northwest, the 8,810 ft. siding on the west side of the line at Arkadelphia (MP 412.9-411.1)where a line once trailed in from the west, , with a grade crossing in the siding, a grade crossing, platform and brick depot on the northwest side just north of the siding, a grade crossing, and a through truss bridge over the Ouachita River.

Now running up the broad valley of the Ouachita River, the line passes a bridge over a road, additional track at Daleville (MP 410.0), where a line once departed to the southeast, a dirt road grade crossing at a detector at MP 406.3, the 6,192 ft. siding on the west side of the line at Witherspoon (MP 406.2-404.8), the 6,226 ft. siding on the west side of the line at Donaldson (MP 400.7-399.4), with a grade crossing and a street alongside to the west, within the siding, a road bridge overhead, a bridge over a stream, Elmore, Saginaw Junction, where a line once trailed in from Saginaw City, on the river, and Bismark, in the mountains further west, Etta, a dirt road grade crossing, a detector at MP 395.3, the 9,206 ft. siding  on the west side of the line at Abco (MP 393.1-391.2), with a dirt road grade crossing near the south end of the siding, a dirt road alongside to the west, a grade crossing, and a spur trailing in on the west side from Rockford, on the river.

There are two extra tracks on the west side at Malvern (MP 388.7), where a former Rock Island line (that once crossed on the flat from the south) leaves northward to follow the river up to Hot Springs and beyond. The speed limit is 35 mph between MP 389.5 and 388.1.

The main line turns east, past a grade crossing, then a road alongside to the west, additional track on the west side at Perla (MP 386.7), where lines once ran south, north, and east, a grade crossing, a detector at MP 386.3, and two road bridges overhead as the line turns east-northeast, with speed limit 60-55 from MP 385.9 to 382.5, past a dirt road grade crossing, the 6,301 ft. siding on the east side at Gifford (MP 384.8-383.4), where a line once left to the east and the main line turns northeast, a grade crossing, Wyandotte, a road alongside to the west, two dirt track grade crossings, a bridge over a stream, and the 6,010 ft. siding on the east side at Traskwood (MP 378.5-377.1), with a dirt road grade crossing and a dirt track grade crossing within the siding..

The line turns north-northeast, past a bridge over a stream, a road alongside to the west, a grade crossing, a detector at MP 373.9, a grade crossing, and the 11,126 ft. siding on the east side at Haskell (MP 373.7-371.4), with a grade crossing and a spur to industry on the west side within the siding, a grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, a bridge over a road, a through truss bridge over a river, and a bridge over a dirt road, and northeast at Saline Junction (MP 370.3), where Two Main Tracks (still CTC) begin, past MP 370, a dirt track grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, additional track at Benton (MP 368.7), Sheridan Junction (MP 368.3), where MoPac lines once left to the west and southeast, a Rock Island line once left to the east, and a short line once headed north to Salem, an angled grade crossing, a road bridge overhead (under construction in June 2008), a grade crossing, the 5,405 ft. siding on the east side at Bauxite Junction (MP 365.3-364.2), where a spur to Bauxite heads away south and the speed limit drops to 70-60, with a road alongside to the west and a grade crossing within the siding, and then to 60-50 at MP 363.3, past two bridges over streams, and Intermediate Signals at MP 363.3,  as the line turns due east past additional track on the west side at Bryant (MP 362.7), a road bridge overhead, north-northeast and then northeast again.

The speed limit returns to 75-60 at MP 361.1, there are Intermediate Signals at MP 360.6, a grade crossing, crossovers at Alexander (MP 358.9), detectors at MP 358.7, the speed limit is 60-50 between MP 357.7 and 357.3, there is additional track at Arkansas Container Corporation (MP 357.1), additional track on the east side at Enmar (MP 356.7), additional track at Arkansas Power and Light (MP 356.5), additional track on the west side at AG (MP 356.3), where the speed limit drops to 70-60 as far as MP 355.9, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals and additional track at Mabelville (MP 355.0), additional track at Arkansas Power and Light  (MP 353.4), a street briefly alongside to the west, and additional track on the east side at Sterling Stores (MP 352.3).

There is a divided highway grade crossing, triple road bridges overhead, that divided highway alongside to the west, a grade crossing, crossovers at Ensign (MP 351.7), where the speed limit drops to 50 mph until MP 351.2, where it rises to 60 mph, three grade crossings, and spurs into the Twentieth Century Industrial Park on the east side at Vogels (MP 351.0). There is a bridge over a stream, an industrial spur on the west side where the track turns north, the speed limit drops to 40 mph at MP 347.4, a former Rock Island line trails in on the east side at LR Junction (MP 347.3), and once continued alongside on the east side past the CRIP 10th Street Station, two road bridges overhead, dual road bridges overhead, a bridge over a culvert, and an angled road bridge overhead..

The line turns northeast, past "S Amtrak Station" and a signal bridge at "X 347", the speed limit falls to 30 mph at MP 346.5, to the Little Rock Amtrak Station, on its own track on the east side between MP 345.9 and 345.6 with crossovers at both ends, with the former Rock Island line from the west, along the south bank of the Arkansas River, trailing in from the northwest, onto the main tracks across from the station. There was once a connector in the west quadrant and a loop in the north quadrant that crosses the main line at grade and entered the passenger station from the northeast.
