Houston (Gulf Coast Junction) to Beaumont (via ex-MP)

From Gulf Coast Junction (MP 1.7), the Beaumont subdivision heads away northeast while the single track Houston East Belt subdivision coming from the west turns east-southeast to Pierce Yard. There is a grade crossing just east of the junction. The single track, CTC, 35 mph Beaumont subdivision passes a divided highway grade crossing, a grade crossing, a street alongside to the south, and a divided highway grade crossing, and reaches West Wye Junction (MP 381.0), where a single-track connector turns away southeast and the main line continues northeast, past dual highway bridges overhead, and a bridge over a stream.

From East Wye Junction (Settegast) (MP 381.6), where a line from Settegast Yard trails in from the south, the Two Main Tracks, CTC, line, with speed limit 60 mph, heads northeast, past a bridge over a stream, two divided highway grade crossings, Dyersdale (MP 385.0), Dyersdale Junction (MP 385.4) where the Two Main Tracks reduce to single track, CTC, a grade crossing with a curving street, a grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, open fields and woods, Intermediate Signals at MP 387.6, Victor, a grade crossing, dual highway bridges overhead, a grade crossing, a detector at MP 389.0, dual highway bridges overhead, piney woods on the south side of the line, a dirt road grade crossing, Harmaston, where the line turns east across Lake Houston on a low trestle—at least above the water; the bottom of the lake can be a long way down—with a 40 mph speed limit, a turn north-northeast, a grade crossing, and then east-southeast past a grade crossing just west of the 8,262 ft. siding on the north side at Huffman (MP 398.4-400.1) among the piney woods, two dirt road grade crossings, a detector at MP 402.6, a grade crossing at the detector, a dirt road grade crossing, a grade crossing,  Eastgate, a dirt road grade crossing, hay fields, Intermediate Signals at Martha (MP 409.0), a dual highway bridge overhead, Intermediate Signals at Fullerton, where a branch north from Dayton once crossed at grade, Intermediate Signals at Kenefick, a grade crossing west of the detector at MP 413.5, a bridge over a dirt road, and a turn east with a speed restriction across the deck bridge over the Trinity River, past five trestles over water in the woods, a spur curving away south to a fenced compound at International Chemical, to Sandune (MP 418.5), where the line turns northeast, past a road bridge overhead, a grade crossing, and a dirt road grade crossing..

The line turns east again at Hardin (MP 422.4), past a detector at MP 422.5, a dirt track grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, a dirt track grade crossing, a road bridge overhead, a grade crosing, the 8,094 ft. siding on the north side at Hull (MP 427.3-429.0), where a spur trails in on the south side, Intermediate Signals at MP 431.9, a detector at MP 433.6, Intermediate Signals at MP 435.x, Strain, Hathaway, a bridge over a stream, a dirt road grade crossing, the 8,773 ft. siding on the north side at Grayburg (MP 441.2-443.0), where a T&NO branch to Nome once headed south, a detector at MP 444.6, a turn east-southeast, a grade crossing, a bridge over a wide slow waterway, Westbury, an acute angle grade crossing, a bridge over a wide slow waterway, a grade crossing, the 10,278 ft. siding on the south side at Amelia (MP 449.7-451.4), which is Yard Limits, Automatic Block Signals with a bridge over a waterway, before CTC resumes, with four sidings on the south side and spurs curving away south to Exxon-Mobil Chemicals, a bridge over a waterway, a turn east past the 7,976 ft. siding at Elizabeth (MP 453.7-455.4), where the speed limit falls to 40 mph, two grade crossings, formerly rail-served silos on the south side, a grade crossing, a bridge over drainage, a grade crossing, and the line turns southeast to the junction at Langham Road (MP 456.5) where the line joins the Sunset Route for the passage through Beaumont.
