From CP-Erwins (MP 294.9), start of a 19,008 ft. south-side Controlled Siding (40 mph on the siding), and just south of due east, past Gang Mills (MP 293.0), CP-Gang Mills (MP 292.9), junction with the Corning Industrial Track and the Wellsboro Corning railroad, trailing in on the south side, Painted Post (MP 292.0), junction with the Bath Secondary Track, trailing in on the north side at a wye, CP-Corning (MP 290.8), where the Corning Running Track departs on the north side, and CP-Gibson (MP 290.1), end of the Controlled Siding, where the Gibson Running Track (forming a wye with the Corning Running Track) trails in on the north side, the line continues, single track, Rule 261, maximum speed 50 mph, past the former location of a flat crossing with the erstwhile routing of the Lackawanna, a bridge over the river, a turn south-southeast, and then just north of due east, following the river, Hickling, where the line turns east, MP 285.5, where the maximum speed drops to 40 mph, leaving the rive behind, and a turn east-northeast, past Big Flats (MP 283.3)and a detector at Big Flats (MP 282.5).
The line turns just east of due south at CP-Horseheads (MP 276.9), start of a north-side 21,120 ft. Controlled Siding (25 mph on the siding) and junction with the Horseheads Industrial Track, trailing in on the east side, past the location of the Elmira Heights ABB Works (on the Controlled Siding), a 30 mph speed restriction, from MP 274.5 to MP 271.9, the location of a former flat crossing with the erstwhile Lackawanna routing, Elmira (MP 273.3), a bridge over the river, CP-Elmira (MP 272.9), where the Controlled Siding ends and an erstwhile PRR line once headed away southwest, just east of due south to Wellsburg (MP 265.7), east, following the river, past a detector at "Wellsburg (MP 264.0), bridging over the river and turning southeast, past Chemung, east-northeast, and just east of due south, all following the river, and east, away from the river.
Double Track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251), with maximum speed 25 mph on Track 2 (eastward), starts at CP-Waverly (MP 255.2), junction with a connector to the Lehigh Secondary Track, heading away south, past a flat crossing with the Lehigh Secondary Track, a bridge over a river, and the Susquehanna River coming alongside to the south, turning northeast, past a former flat crossing with an erstwhile Lehigh Valley line, just south of due east, following that river, past Smithboro (MP 246.0), east, north past detectors at "Tioga Center" (MP 243.0) and MP 241.4, where the maximum speed on Track 2 rises to 40 mph, and northeast, still following the river, to the handthrow (until October 2010) crossover at Owego (CP 236, MP 236.1), where there is a connection north to the Tioga Scenic, running on a former Lehigh Valley segment.
The line turns east, southeast, just north of due east, just east of due south past MP 228.0, where the maximum speed on Track 1 (westward) falls to 25 mph), Campville (MP 227.9), and MP 227.8, where the maximum speed on Track 2 rises to 50 mph, just north of due east, past CP 222, where from October 2010, the line is single track, east-northeast, past Endicott (MP 221.1), and curvily east, with a 45 mph speed restriction on Track 2, from MP 220.0 to MP 219.7 and a detector on Track 2 at "Johnson City" (MP 219.6), all following the north bank of the river, turning southeast, past CP 217, where double track resumes (from October 2010), and then east again, past a crossover at CP-Johnson (MP 215.3), where the maximum speed on both tracks becomes 30 mph, a handthrow crossover at Prospect Avenue (MP 214.2), the junction with the New York, Susquehanna & Western, trailing in from the north, at Binghamton (MP 214.1), the handthrow crossover at Liberty Street (MP 213.5), the junction with the former Delaware & Hudson, heading north, on the north side, and east, on the former Lackawanna, on the south side, at CP-BD (MP 213.2).
