From the junction with the New York, Susquehanna & Western, trailing in from the north, at Binghamton (MP 214.1), the handthrow crossover at Liberty Street (MP 213.5), the junction with the former Delaware & Hudson, heading north, on the north side, and east, on the former Lackawanna, on the south side, at CP-BD (MP 213.2), the line continues, Double Track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251), with maximum speed 40 mph, past a turn south-southeast, following the Susquehanna River, CP-Coles (MP 210.9), where single track, Rule 261, starts, four spurs to the south, a detector at "Kirkwood" (MP 204.2), the border between New York and Pennsylvania (MP 201.9), at turn east at Great Bend, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 198.6 to MP 197.0, followed by turns just east of due south, back to the river, just north of due east, along the river, south-southeast, following the river, east, still following the river, past the resumption of Double Track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251) at CP-SR (MP 193.9), with a maximum speed of 25 mph, from MP 192.0, Susquehanna (MP 191.8), where the line starts to climb away from the river, and CP-Lanesboro (MP 189.8), where Rule 261 starts on Track 1, the line turns northeast, and a connector to the erstwhile Delaware & Hudson line to Scranton, below, once departed on the south side.
The line crosses the multi-arch Starrucca Viaduct, over the Susquehanna River and the former route of the erstwhile D&H Scranton line, below, climbing to the Susquhanna-Delaware watershed and turning east-northeast at the border between Pennsylvania and New York (MP 186.7), past MP 183.5, where the maximum speed on Track 2 rises to 30 mph and a crossover at CP-Gulf Summit (MP 183.3), where current-of-traffic (Rule 251) resumes on both tracks as the line starts the descent to the Delaware River, turning north-northeast past detectors at "Gulf Summit" (MP 180.8), just north of due east, past Oquoqua, northeast past the return to 40 mph maximum speed at MP 176.4, east past the start of single track, Rule 261, at CP-Deposit (MP 174.4) and a bridge over the Delaware River, south, along the east bank of that river, past MP 172.0, where the maximum speed drops to 35 mph, east-southeast, following the river, past Hale Eddy, south, still following the river, past a detector at "Hancock" (MP 168.5), south-southeast, east past spurs to the south at Hancock (MP 163.0), where the erstwhile New York, Ontario & Western line to Scranton once crossed, and curvily south, across a bridge over a side river, still following the riverbank, past Stockport and a detector at "Lordville" (MP 157.8).
There is a turn curvily east, still following the river, with a 30 mph speed restriction, from MP 153.8 to MP 153.3, where the maximum speed reverts to 40 mph, the start of Double Track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251), at CP-Lordville (MP 151.6), a sharp turn south around a river bend, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 151.6 to MP 150.6, a turn east, past the resumption of single track, Rule 261, at CP-Eddy (MP 147.2), south-southeast, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 145.5 to MP 145.3, past a detector at "Hankins" (MP 142.0), southeast, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 141.7 to MP 139.5, south, southwest, east-southeast, and then curvily south, all following the river, past spurs to south and north at Callicoon (MP 135.2), a jog southwest and then south again, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 130.6 to MP 127.2, past a spur to the north at Cochecton (MP 130.0), a detector at "Skinners" (MP 127.2), Skinners Falls, the start of Double Track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251), at CP-Nobody (MP 125.0), and curves south-southwest and then just east of due south, past a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 123.5 to MP 121.0, spurs to both south and north at Narrowsburg (MP 121.5), and the resumption of single track, Rule 261, at CP-Narrows (MP 121.0).
The line turns south, with a 25 mph speed restriction, from MP 118.0 to MP 115.8, bridging across the river, and thus the border between New York and Pennsylvania at MP 117.9, turning very curvily south-southeast, following the river, past a detector at "Mast Hope" (MP 114.7), south past the junction with the Stourbridge Railroad, trailing in from the west, at Lackawaxen (MP 110.2), east, south, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 107.8 to MP 107.5, past the start of Double Track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251), at CP-Shohola (MP 105.6), southeast, south again, and then east, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 105.6 to MP 102.2, past the resumption of single track, Rule 261 at CP-Parker (MP 102.2), curvily east-southeast, with a 35 mph speed restriction, from MP 100.8 to MP 95.1, past a detector at "Pond Eddy" (MP 96.5), all following the river, and east-southeast, away from the river, past a detector at "Mill Ritt" (MP 91.3), a 30 mph speed restriction, from MP 91.3 to MP 90.2, past a bridge over the river and thus the border between Pennsylvania and New York at MP 90.8, and southeast, past the start of Double Track, current-of-traffic (Rule 251), at CP-Sparrow (MP 89.9), the spur and handthrow crossover at PA (MP 87.9), to the passenger station at Port Jervis (MP 87.5), on its passenger track on the north side of the main line.
