Auburndale to Sebring

From the wye with the Lakeland sub. on both sides, where an SAL main line used to arrive from the north and make a flat crossing (MP 820.5), as the Lakeland sub. continues west, with an east-west grade crossing on the east leg and the west leg (or residual north-south straight), the Miami line heads south-southeast from Auburndale, single track, CTC, overall speed limit 79 mph for passenger trains, 70 mph for intermodal trains and 60 mph for freight trains, but local speed restriction of 45 mph through Auburndale (to MP 820.9), past a spur to the west trailing in, two extra tracks and a petroleum facility to the east, the 7,334 ft. west side siding at Auburndale (MP 820.1), a spur to the west, three grade crossings, a lake to the west, a grade crossing, a turn southeast, a speed restriction of 55 mph between MP 825.6 and MP 825.9, a speed restriction of 30 mph between MP 825.9 and MP 826.3, through Winter Haven, an angled grade crossing, the 7,040 ft. west side siding at Winter Haven (MP 826.2), with an angled grade crossing within the siding, the passenger station with platform, umbrella shed, and stucco depot to the west, where the line turns south, extra track to the west, the south-facing 1.6 mile Winter Haven Spur (MP 826.2) on the east side (which used to come through from Lake Alfred, to the north), the north-facing 5.5 mile Gordonsville Spur (MP 826.2), heading southwest on the west side, and a speed restriction of 50 mph between MP 826.3 and MP 827.1 as the line turns south-southeast again.

There is a detector at MP 829.3, a grade crossing, a bridge over a canal, a road bridge overhead, a speed restriction of 65 mph between MP 835.4 and MP 836.4, the 10,222 ft. west side siding (25 mph) at West Lake Wales (MP 835.8), a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals, an angled grade crossing, three extra tracks on the east side, the south-facing 16.9 mile Frostproof Spur (MP 835.9), heading east and then south (on the former ACL line) on the east side, and a line formerly heading west as the main line turns south, a grade crossing, a road alongside to the west, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals, Wolfolk, where the line turns south-southeast again, the 7,300 ft. west side siding (25 mph) at West Frostproof (MP 846.7), with the road to the west turning away and an angled grade crossing within the siding, a detector at MP 847.9, Intermediate Signals at MP 849.x, a road bridge overhead, a grade crossing, a spur to the west trailing in, two grade crossings, and a divided road to the west.

The line turns south, with a passenger speed restriction of 75 mph between MP 856.4 and MP 856.7, a speed restriction of 45 mph between MP 856.7 and MP 858.8, through Avon Park, a lake to the west, a dirt road to the west, a grade crossing, the 4,105 ft. east side siding at Avon Park (MP 858.2), with a grade crossing within the siding, the south-facing 1.2 mile Avon Park Spur on the east side, where that ex-ACL line once came alongside to the east and then made a flat crossing to the west side, a grade crossing, a divded road grade crossing, an angled grade crossing, a grade crossing, a lake to the west, an orange orchard to the west, two bridges over streets, an angled grade crossing, and a passenger speed restriction of 70 mph between MP 858.8 and MP 862.9, as the line turns south-southeast again.

There is a 7,378 ft. west side siding (25 mph) at Hartt (MP 862.3), a road alongside to the west, a grade crossing, a passenger speed restriction of 75 mph between MP 862.9 and MP 866.5, a lake to the east, Lakemont, a turn south with a grade crossing on the turn, orange orchards to the west of the line, a detector at MP 865.4, a lake to the west, an angled grade crossing, two grade crossings, a street alongside to the west, a speed restriction of 45 mph between MP 866.5 and MP 867.5, through Sebring, and Sebring (MP 867.2), with extra track to the west, and platform, umbrella shed, and depot to the east, where that ex-ACL line trailed in on the west side, and the Sebring sub. (ex-ACL) departs on the west side, continuing south while the main line turns east.
