Streator to Pequot

From the depot on the west side of the line at Streator (MP 89.6), the Two Main Tracks, CTC, line, speed limit 79 mph for passenger trains and 55 mph for most freight trains, turns east, with speed limit 55-50 on the curves between MP 89.3 and MP 88.2, past detectors at MP 85.9, crossovers at Kernan (MP 84.4), where the line turns east-northeast and then east again, the 4,500 ft. spur, north to the power plant at Lake La Salle, and shuttle-enabled grain elevators at Ransom (MP 79.8), where the line turns east-northeast again, the 1,000 ft. spur at Kinsman (MP 74.8), crossovers at Verona (MP 70.8), detectors at MP 68.3, the 3,300 ft. spur at Mazon (MP 66.1), where the Kankakee & Seneca Railway once crossed on the flat from southeast to northwest, and Gorman.

The line turns from east-northeast to northeast, with curves on the north track between MP 58.7 and MP 58.4, where the speed limit is 55-50, curves on the south track between MP 58.7 and MP 58.0, where the speed limit is 55-50, the 1,000 ft. spur at Coal City (MP 58.2), where an EJ&E line once crossed on the flat from north to south, curves on the north track between MP 58.2 and MP 57.0, where the speed limit is 75-65, and curves on the south track between MP 57.3 and MP 57.0, where the speed limit is 40 mph, past Pequot (MP 57.2), where the 2MT, CTC, become DT, ABS and a track of the former Chicago & Alton trails in from the south to become joint track between Pequot and Joliet.
