From the junction with the line south to Troy Grove (and once to Spring Valley) at DeKalb (MP 58.3), the line continues just south of due east, Two Main Tracks, CTC, Automatic Train Control, speed limit 60 mph (but local 50 mph speed restriction to MP 57.5), past crossovers at Cortland-CO (MP 55.4), where an erstwhile line south from Beloit once trailed in, Maple Park (MP 50.6), crossovers at MW (MP 48.5), Meredith (MP 48.0), and detectors at MP 46.1, to the Metra station, with south side platform (only) and brick depot on the south side, at Elburn (MP 44.0), where Metra services from Chicago have terminated since April, 2006.
