Council Bluffs to Missouri Valley

From the junction with the BNSF (former CB&Q) line to Pacific Junction, heading just south of due east at BN Junction (MP 351.3), where CTC gives way to Yard Limits, the main line turns northeast, Two Main Tracks, YL, speed limit 20 mph, past a former crossing with the erstwhile IC/Chicago Central line at CCP Xing (MP 351.0), crossing 13th Street, and turning north, passing beneath a bridge carrying Broadway overhead as the 12th Street line trails in on the east side, today's connection to the Canadian National (former IC) departs on the west side, and the former C&NW River Line trails in on the west side, Heritage Park on the west side (with the stuffed-and-mounted 'Big Boy'), the Bartlett Grain Elevator on the east side, and the yard on the west side at North Council Bluffs (MP 347.0), where a connector from the CN trails in on the west side, the speed limit has risen to 40 mph, the line drops to single track, CTC, and Automatic Train Control starts.

The line turns north-northwest, north, north-northeast, and just west of due north, past a detector at MP 335.3, where the speed limit has risen to 60 mph, Loveland (MP 334.0), and a bridge carrying the CN line overhead,, and north past South Missouri Valley (MP 332.2), where the line expands to 2MT again, Canal Street (MP 330.2), where the speed limit has dropped to 50 mph, the west leg of the wye junction on the west side with the 2MT former C&NW line east from Fremont at Missouri Valley Junction (MP 329.6), a turn east to the crossovers and junction with the east leg of that wye at Missouri Valley, 9th Street (MP 329.2), a turn north-northeast, and crossovers at East Missouri Valley (MP 326.2), as the UP Boone sub. continues ahead.
