From Garrett Junction (MP 0.0), where the speed limit has risen to 40 mph, the Fort Worth line (the UP Midlothian sub., former H&TC) splits off to head west-northwest on the west side of the Dallas line, single track, Track Warrant Control, Automatic Block Signals, turning just north of due west past a bridge carrying US 287 overhead, to Waxahachie (MP 11.5), where it turns north-northwest, past the flat crossing and junction (southwest quadrant connector) with the BNSF (former T&BV) DFW sub at BNSF Crossing (MP 12.8), where BNSF trackage rights trains enter the line, and then curvily northwest past a bridge over SR 875, the bridges carrying I-35E overhead, a grade crossing with SR 875, Sardis, a detector at MP 19.2, a bridge carrying US 287 overhead, another road bridge overhead and the former junction/crossing (west quadrant connector) with the erstwhile BNSF (former GC&SF) Venus sub. at Midlothian (MP 23.1), where the speed limit is 20 mph on the junction/crossing, top of the 1.17% to 1.27% Midlothian Hill, descending to the west.
The line curves gently around to the north, past Gifco (MP 25.6), where a spur on the east side trails in from North Texas Cement, and then curves west-northwest past a detector at MP 29.7,, the bridge over Mountain Creek at the foot of the hill, Britton, a bridge over SR 360, a bridge carrying US 287 overhead, spurs on either side, another road bridge overhead, and Mansfield (MP 34.1), turning northwest and then north past a detector at MP 38.3, and the 8,420 ft. siding at Bisbee (MP 40.4), where it turns curvily north-northwest past the bridges carrying I-20 overhead, Kennedale, Forest Hill (MP 46.8), where it turns just north of due west, past the top of Seminary Hill at MP 48, and then descending that 1.29% grade, turning north across the foot of the grade at the Sycamore Creek bridge, and west northwest, passing beneath the stub of the former IGN (MoPac) line and then curving north-northwest, passing beneath the bridges carrying I 35W, to the junction with the UP (former M-K-T) Fort Worth sub. heading just east of due north at Midlothian Junction (MP 50.2), where the line once continued across a flat crossing heading north, and the speed limit is 25 mph.
