Frederickson to Elbe

From the wye junction with the Chehalis Branch, and yard, at Fredrickson (MP 13.0), where there is a 10 mph speed restriction, the Chehalis Branch turns southwest, and the former Milwaukee Road Morton Branch continues just east of due south, single track, Yard Limits, maximum speed 20 mph, past a grade crossing, Berkeley, where it turns very curvily southeast, a road far below on the east side, Veneer, extra track serving a lumber mill to the east, an angled grade crossing, an angled grade crossing with a wide road at Graham (MP 18.2), where it turns just north of due east and starts a 2.2% climb to Kapowsin, two grade crossings,  the 4,017 ft. east side siding at Thrift (MP 20.0), where it turns south-southeast, a grade crossings, a road to the east (beyond trees), two dirt track grade crossings, Tanwax, a turn east, past a grade crossing, and  three dirt track grade crossings, and then south-southwest, past an angled grade crossing and Kapowsin (MP 25.2), where Lake Kapowsin lies to the east (beyond a line of trees), and Ohop Creek.

The line turns south, southwest, south past a grade crossing with Clay City Road, Clay City (MP 29.8), southwest, past a cutting in the woods, south-southeast past the 2,495 ft. east side siding at Eatonville (MP 33.4), formerly Eatonville Junction where an erstwhile Milwaukee Road line (previous routing) left on the west side, and a grade crossing at Lynch Creek Road (MP 33.6), turning south, past a grade crossing, housing to the west, and a grade crossing, east-northeast, past a bridge over a stream below and a dirt track grade crossing, southwest, on a ledge above a valley to the west, in the woods, east, with a road to the south, past a dirt track grade crossing and a road bridge overhead, south, past a bridge over a stream, and through the woods, with buildings to the east, a road bridge overhead, and a stream to the east, southwest, past a dirt track grade crossing on a driveway and two dirt track grade crossings, and just east of due south, past meadows and woods and a steep grade, and two dirt track grade crossings, to New Reliance (MP 41.6), where there are three yard tracks to the east.

There is a grade crossing, and the line turns southeast, past a dirt road grade crossing in the woods, and then south, with a lake beyond trees to the west (and a road below the line, in between), east, with the road an lake continuing alongside,  and then east-southeast, past a grade crossing, to the yard tracks to the east at Elbe (MP 46.6), where the erstwhile Milwaukee Road routing once trailed in on the south side and operations of the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad are based, including a dirt road grade crossing, a wooden depot to the east, and a parking lot and small church to the west.
