Chehalis to Curtis

From the junction with the Tacoma Rail Mountain Division at Curtis Switch (MP 0.0), the single track, Yard Limits, 25 mph maximum speed, former Milwaukee Road line heads southwest, past a bridge carrying I-5 overhead, a platform to the northwest, with a wooden depot on it, a four-track maintenance depot to the northwest, a bridge over a culvert, an angled grade crossing, lines of trees on both sides of the track, a bridge over a stream, a dirt track grade crossing, a dirt road grade crossing to a farm, two dirt road grade crossings, a dirt track grade crossing, open fields, a grade crossing, a road alongside to the northwest, a bridge over a culvert, a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing, and Jay, where there was once a flat crossing with the erstwhile Northern Pacific line to the coast.

The line turns west, past two dirt track grade crossings, a bridge over drainage, an angled grade crossing, and a bridge over drainage, southwest, past a grade crossing angled the other way, a dirt track grade crossing, and the Chehalis River to the northwest, northwest past lines of trees, a grade crossing, and West Adna, and north-northwest to a siding and extra track to the east, with an angled grade crossing within the siding, at Milburn (MP 6.5), southwest, past a dirt road grade crossing on the curve, south, with the Chehalis River alongside to the west,  west, past a dirt track grade crossing on a driveway, and southwest again, with the river departing to the west, to Ruth (MP 11.0), where there was once a junction with the erstwhile Milwaukee Road line west to Raymond, on the coast, there is a bridge over a side river with the main river off to the northwest, and the line turns south, to Curtis (MP 12.6), whence the Chehalis Western once continued south to Camp McDonald.
