Palestine to Rusk

From the junction with the former International Great Northern (later MP) Houston Line at Palestine South Junction (MP 548.6), where the speed limit is 25 mph, the Texas State Railroad heads curvily east, single track, Track Warrant Control, speed limit 10 mph, past the passenger station at Palestine (MP 25.5), with platform and depot on the north side within the wye on the north side, and locomotive shed for former T&P 2-10-4 610 on the east side of the stub of the wye, north of the depot, a dirt track grade crossing, a grade crossing, Deanwright (MP 23.5), a grade crossing at Gibson Road, US 84 alongside to the north, a dirt track grade crossing, Kossuth (MP 20.8), where it angles curvily east-northeast, "Robertson Castle" (MP 20), a wye on the south side, a road alongside to the south, turning across a grade crossing, Gresham (MP 556.8), a dirt road grade crossing, Jarvis (MP 17.5), a turn just south of due east and then curvily northeast, a bridge over the Neches River, a long bridge over a side river, three dirt track grade crossings, a bridge over a stream, Herring (MP 14.5), and Bullard (MP 563.4).

There are two dirt track grade crossings, Mewshaw (MP 11.6), a turn east, a dirt road grade crossing, and then northeast again, a long viaduct over a stream, a dirt track grade crossing, Tinimax (MP 566.3), Java (MP 9.0), a dirt road grade crossing, a bridge over a stream, Maybelle (MP 7.3), with a wooden depot on the south side, a turn just south of due east, a grade crossing, extra track on the north side, an east-facing spur on the south side, US 84 alongside to the north, Pomona (MP 572.9), Jacksonville (MP 576.6), two grade crossings, a bridge over Bean Creek, Dialville (MP 584.7), a turn just north of due east, extra track on the south side, a dirt road grade crossing, a wye on the north side, a bridge over a stream, and the passenger station at the Texas State Railroad Museum (Rusk, MP 0.6), with wooden platform and wooden depot on the north side of a platform track north of the main track, and then just south of due east to Rusk (MP 592.1/MP 0.0), the end of track and location of the line's shops, where the line once continued as a Cotton Belt line headed for Lufkin.
