From North Philadelphia (MP 85.0), where there are crossovers north of the station, the speed limit on the four track line is 70-45/30 as the elevated line passes three bridges over streets, a closed tower, six bridge over streets, two tracks off to the south into industry, a bridge over a street below, old trolley cars in a yard to the northwest, tracks trailing in on the south side, a road bridge overhead, over a closed former Reading line north from 3rd Street, turns east, two bridges over streets, a bridge overhead (a closed former Reading line from Point Richmond Yard) and two bridges over streets, to the crossovers at Shore (MP 82.1), where there are signal bridges overhead at both ends and wooden Shore Tower on the south side, and the separation at Frankford Junction (MP 81.8), with a CSX yard alongside to the south, where a connection to the Point Richmond Yard turns southwest, the connection to the NJT Atlantic City Line turns southeast, and the four track NEC turns northeast.
