Frankford Junction to Atlantic City

From Frankford Junction (MP 80.0), the non-electrified line heads southeast. There is a connector on the west side down to the Port Richmond line, which then passes beneath, and a connector from that line then trails in on the southwest side. The line bridges over two roads and a highway below, over the line (two tracks, one of them out-of-service) along the west bank of the Delaware River to Frankford Arsenal, over a street below, past a power station to the south along the river bank, and then bridges over that river, into New Jersey (Sate Line, MP 82.1), on the through truss Delair Moveable Bridge (MP 82.9/0.0). On the east bank, there is a connector on the southwest side down to the Camden to Trenton line, which then passes beneath, followed by connectors from that line trailing in on both sides. There is a bridge over a street below. The line then turns south, sends off a connector on the east side to the the former Conrail Fort Dix branch, and then crosses that line. A track trails in on the west side, there is a grade crossing, and a bridge over a road below, a grade crossing, two road bridges overhead, and a bridge over a road. After crossing a river, there is a road bridge overhead and the line comes along the east side of the PATCO line at its Haddonfield location, with the PATCO line below grade, and the NJT line in a trench at a lower level, where a PRR branch from Camden following the same routing as the PATCO line once trailed in from the northwest.

Amtrak and PATCO lines curve southeast, now at ground level, past two bridges over roads below, PATCO's Woodcrest, south past PATCO's Ashland, the NJT Cherry Hill station (platform on west side only), a bridge over a street, a wide bridge overhead, a road bridge overhead, and a bridge over a street, to the New Jersey Transit yard at Race (North Race, MP 4.3, start of a 4900 ft. siding on the west side at Race, MP 4.7, and South Race, MP 5.5, end of the siding), a road bridge overhead, the line in a trench, Intermediate Signals at MP 7.2, a road bridge overhead, and south-southeast past Kirkwood to  the single platform on the west side at Lindenwold (MP 11.7), where there is a footbridge over the line to the east side at the south end of the station and the PATCO line on the west side ends. The NJT line turns southeast past a spur on the east side, two grade crossing, Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing, MP 13, a bridge over a road below, a 7,920 ft. siding on the east side from North Lucas (MP 13.2) past Lucaston, a road bridge overhead, and MP 14 to South Lucas (MP 14.7).

The line continues past a road bridge overhead, a grade crossing, a road bridge overhead, West Berlin, three grade crossings, an old depot on the west side, two grade crossings, a road bridge overhead, Reed Crossing, a bridge over a highway, Intermediate Signals at MP 17.2, the single platform on the west side at Atco (MP 17.8), where the line is elevated, and three grade crossings, south-southeast past a 4,752 ft. siding on the west side from North Fish (MP 19.1) past a  bridge overhead to South Fish (MP 20.0), three grade crossings, Waterford, and a road bridge overhead, south past Ancora, and south-southeast to Intermediate Signals at Winslow Junction, where a Jersey Central line once crossed from the northeast, and continued southwest, a former Conrail line trailed in from the northwest, and turned away south, and the Amtrak/NJT line heads southeast with an old signal tower on the east side. There is a 6,864 ft. siding on the west side from North Wins (MP 25.7) to South Wins (MP 27.1).

There is a bridge over a road, a road bridge overhead, and four grade crossings. (This whole line is in a 'tree tunnel' until it gets to the coastal 'barrens'  south of Absecon.) There are two grade crossings, the old Hammonton depot on the east side, two grade crossings, a single platform on the west side (all platforms on this line are high level) at Hammonton (MP 30.7), two grade crossings, a road bridge overhead, Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals, a grade crossing, a 4,752 ft. siding on the east side from North Lica (MP 36.7) to South Lica (MP 37.6), four grade crossings, the platform on the east side at Egg Harbor (MP 41.8), four grade crossings, Intermediate Signals at Cologne, a track trailing in on the west side, a 4,752 ft. siding on the east side from North Pomo (MP 46.7) to South Pomo (MP 47.6), a road bridge overhead, water alongside to the west, two bridges over roads, the single platform on the east side at Absecon (MP 52.1), two bridges over roads, and a track trails in on the west side and the line becomes double track before turning south around the west edge of the main shoreline, past a road bridge overhead, Intermediate Signals at Griff (MP 55.9) and southeast again, through marshland, across the single track movable bridge with a speed restriction at Beach (MP 57.5) and past a grade crossing, into Atlantic City (MP 58.0), which has two dual-sided platforms (1&2, 3&4) and a single east side platform (5), all with umbrella sheds, serving five tracks, with the station buildings at the south end.
