Spring Junction to Palestine (West Junction)

From the wye junction on the west side at Spring Junction (MP 210.8), where the east side yard tracks trail back in, and the UP Navasota sub. turns away west-northwest, the UP Palestine sub. continues just west of due north, now single track, CTC, speed limit 60 mph, past a detector at MP 207.5, additional track at Tamina (MP 203.4), Woodlands (MP 201.6), Medley, where it turns north, Bison (MP 200.4), additional track at Hope (MP 200.3), Camp Shake, a detector at MP 198.0, Ayres the flat crossing with the former Santa Fe line from Somerville to Silsbee at BNSF Xing (MP 194.6), the 7,827 ft. siding at Conroe (MP 192.9), a turn just west of due north and then north again, Willis (MP 186.7), a detector at MP 186.4, a turn just east of due north just west of due north, and north again (curvily), Esperanza, New Waverly (MP 178.2), Espina, additional track at Louisiana Pacific (MP 176.1), a detector at MP 174.2, and Kelly's.

The line turns northeast, just east of due north, northeast again past the 7,992 ft. siding at Phelps (MP 167.4 - MP 165.8), where the speed limit is 45 mph and there is a wye on the west side with a branch to Huntsville, north past a detector at MP 162.7, where the speed limit is 60 mph and Doge, where a shortline once headed east, just west of due north past Carolina, north-northeast past Riverside (MP 154.4), where the speed limit is 50 mph, and a bridge over Lake Livingstone on the Trinity River, north past a detector at MP 150.0, where the speed limit is 60 mph, and the 9,875 ft. siding at Trinity (MP 148.6, where the speed limit is 60 mph, to MP 146.5, where it is 40 mph), where erstwhile Waco, Beaumont, Trinity & Sabine Railway lines once headed east-southeast, northwest, and northeast.

After a turn to the north-northwest, and Red Branch, there is additional track at Wedco (MP 135.0), additional track at Lovelady (MP 134.0) Wooters, and a detector at MP 131.7, where the speed limit has returned to 60 mph, a turn north and then north-northeast to the 9,880 ft. siding at Crockett (MP 122.1, where the speed limit is 60 mph, to MP 120.0, where it is 40 mph), where it turns north-northwest, just east of due north past additional track at Ampeset (MP 116.2), aka Southwest Chemical, a detector at MP 115.9, where the speed limit has returned to 60 mph and the line turns curvily north, Latexo, Grapeland (MP 107.4), and additional track at Vulcraft (MP 105.7), aka Nucor Steel, a turn north-northwest past Salmon (MP 101.0), where the speed limit has fallen to 45 mph, and northwest past a detector at MP 99.4 and the 7,540 ft. siding at Elkhart (MP 96.2 - MP 94.7).

The line turns just north of due west and then just east of due north, past a detector at MP 91.4 and Cronin, turning just west of due north tothe junction with the Texas State Railroad coming from the east at South Junction (MP 84.3), where the speed limit is 30 mph, the line once continued ahead to Palestine and now turns just north of due west on the former route of the Texas State Railroad, to the junction with the UP Hearne sub. from San Antonio, coming from the southwest at West Junction (MP 82.7), where the speed limit has fallen to 20 mph.
