Double Track Junction to Tower 87

From the junction with the single track, becoming double track, Houston West Belt sub., headed north, at Double Track Junction (MP 11.3), the Houston East Belt sub. heads northeast, single track, CTC, speed limit 20 mph, past additional track at Century Papers (MP 11.1) from Track 2 (southeast side), additional track at Alamo Forest Products (MP 11.0) from Track 1 (northwest side), crossovers at East Belt Yard (MP 10.9), where Two Main Tracks, CTC, start and the eponymous yard begins on the southeast side of the line, additional track at General Stevedores (MP 10.3) from Track 2, additional track at Truesweet (MP 10.2) from Track 2, crossovers at Lawndale (MP 10.1), northeast end of East Belt Yard, and the flat crossing and junction (east quadrant connector) with the UP Galveston sub. (former Galveston, Houston & Henderson) at Tower 85 (MP 9.4).

There is a wye on the southeast side (Track 2) with the Booth Yard Industrial Lead, on the route of the erstwhile M-K-T, into Booth Yard  on the south bank of the Houston Ship Channel, at Booth Yard Lead (MP 9.2), where there was once a flat crossing with that erstwhile M-K-T line heading west-northwest to Congress Yard and North GH&H Junction, and the line continues north-northwest past the southwest end of Dallerup Yard, on the northwest side, at Dallerup (MP 8.7) on Track 1, the northeast end of that yard, and Port Terminal Railway Association (PTRA) spur trailing in on the west side (Track 1) at Esperson (MP 8.1), and South Bridge Junction (MP 8.1), where the number of tracks reduces to single for the bridge over the Ship Channel (becoming the bayou, at this point).

Another PTRA spur trails in on the northwest side and Two Main Tracks resume at North Bridge Junction (MP 8.0), on the north side of the bridge, and the line passes additional track on the northwest side at American Can Lead (MP 7.8), from Track 1, additional track on the northwest side at Delta Paper Stock (MP 7.8) from Track 1, additional track on the southeast side at General Traffic & Storage (MP 7.6), from Track 2, the flat crossing with the UP Strang sub. (Former Galveston, Harrisburg & San Antonio, later SP) at Tower 86 (MP 7.6), a spur from industries trailing in on the northwest side at Bankers Mortgage (MP 7.5), on Track 1, a connection from the PTRA's North Yard trailing in on the southeast side at PTRA Junction, southwest end of Basin Yard on the southeast side, and the crossovers and junctions with the PTRA trailing in from the south, as the line turns north, and a line heading east to Glass Yard, at North Shore Junction (MP 6.1).

The Glass Track Industrial Lead trails in at Strutt (MP 5.4), on Track 2 (east side), and the line continues north past crossovers at Englewood East (MP 4.9), junction with the southwest and southeast quadrant connectors to the Two Main Tracks of the Sunset Route (Houston Terminal sub.), the flat crossing with that line, and Tower 87 (MP 4.7), on the north side of the flat crossing, with northeast and northwest quadrant connectors from the Sunset Route.
