Tower A2 to Pacific Junction

At Western Avenue (Tower A-2, still standing in the northeast 'quadrant', MP 2.90), the three ex-Milwaukee Road tracks swing west-northwest and cross the ex-C&NW Geneva line tracks at grade (double-slip switches) into the Metra Western Avenue station (MP 2.97) which has island and east-side platforms serving the three tracks here, with a signal bridge at the north end of the station, beyond which, on the east side of the line, is the Western Avenue Metra Coach Yard (twelve tracks plus buildings with tracks in them). Interestingly, this is adjacent to the California Avenue Metra Coach Yard on the C&NW line, which is on the west side of the Western Avenue station). The Three Main Tracks, ABS, line, with speed limit 60-40, turns north-northwest, west of the coach yard, past a signal bridge, bridges over north-south streets, two signal bridges, a through girder bridge over a north-south street, a through girder bridge over an east-west street, two through girder bridges over north-south streets, a bridge over an east-west street, a bridge over a north-south street, four bridges over east-west streets, a signal bridge, and two bridges over east-west streets, .

At Tower A5 (Pacific Junction, MP 5.4, tower still standing on the east side), the three-track Milwaukee West line heads to the west, and the two-track Milwaukee North line continues straight ahead, with a connector in the northwest quadrant.
