Wakely  to Chetwynd

From Wakely (MP 537.2), a junction at which the Tumbler Ridge line leaves the mainline to head east into and across the mountains, the main line turns north-northwest, single track, OCS, with overall speed limit 65 mph for passenger trains and 50 mph for freights, but with local limit 30 mph for freights, past MP 537.7, where the overhead electrification ends and the freight speed limit rises to 40 mph, a detector at MP 538.2, the 5,820 ft. siding at Anzac (MP 539.2), a detector at MP 540.9, Firth (MP 545.5), a detector at MP 545.9, a jog northeast with a freight speed restriction of 30 mph between MP 547.1 and MP 547.9, bridging over the Parsnip River, running north-northwest along the east side of the river, then leaving the river behind and heading north past the 2,800 ft. siding at Hodda (MP 552.2), MP 553.6, a freight speed restriction of 25 mph between MP 553.7 and MP 555.0, after which the freight speed limit drops to 35 mph, a turn north-northwest, Chinka (MP 560.5), MP 565.9, where the freight speed limit rises to 40 mph, and the 5,800 ft. siding at Kennedy (MP 567.3), where the Mackenzie subdivision leaves at a wye on the west side.

The line turns just east of due north, bridging over the Misinchinka River to Caswell (MP 575.4), and turning north past a detector at MP 576.3, MP 577.4, where the freight speed limit drops to 30 mph, Bijoux (MP 580.2), a turn east-northeast, a detector at MP 584.0, a turn north, past a detector and summit at MP 589.3, where the elevation is 2,809 ft., and the 3,100 ft. siding at Azouzetta (MP 591.6), MP 592.0, where the freight speed limit drops to 25 mph, a turn northwest, a detector at MP 592.9, a detector at MP 596.6, where the line turns west, a tunnel at MP 597.9, a turn northwest, a detector at MP 600.1, a turn north, MP 600.3, where the freight speed limit rises to 40 mph, the 3,100 ft. siding at Garbitt (MP 601.5), a bridge over the Pine River, which the line then follows almost all the way to Chetwynd, a turn northeast, along the north side of the river, a freight speed restriction of 30 mph between MP 603.3 and MP 603.7, Callazon, a detector at MP 605.2, a freight speed restriction of 30 mph between MP 606.8 and MP 607.0 as the line turns southeast, a detector at MP 608.4, a turn east, LeMoray Quarry, a freight speed restriction of 25 mph between MP 611.5 and MP 612.9, a bridge over the river to its south side, and LeMoray (MP 612.4).

The line then turns east-northeast, along the south side of the river, past Bickford, a freight speed restriction of 30 mph between MP 619.1 and MP 621.9, Violato, Falls (MP 627.5), a turn east, MP 632.8, where the freight speed limit drops to 25 mph, the 2,900 ft. siding at Hulcross (MP 633.9), a detector at MP 636.2, a turn south and then a sweeping curve back to the east-northeast, past MP 637.9, where the freight speed limit reverts to 40 mph and Pinesul (MP 640.9), bridging back to the north side of the river and turning east, with a freight speed restriction of 20 mph between MP 641.9 and MP 642.5, past a freight speed restriction of 20 mph on a road crossing at MP 644.6, gradually curving back to the northeast, still along the north side of the river, past Dokie (MP 652.7), a detector at MP 654.7, after which the river turns away, the start of Yard Limits at MP 657.5, a freight speed restriction of 35 mph on a road crossing at MP 657.8, and the start of the yard at MP 658.5 at Chetwynd (MP 658.5), a small town with a yard,  a BCRail office, and a wye on the east side of the line with the line east to Dawson Creek.
